On Sunday November 20th, the Colin Edwards Texas Tornado Boot Camp successfully wrapped up the 11th camp of their inaugural season.

Colin Edwards played host to AMA regulars Cory West, Dane Westby, and Dustin Dominguez along with students consisting of NESBA trackday regulars and a group from California.

All in attendance saw immense improvements in their riding over the weekend with the most improved award going to Michele Middleton who saw an improvement of over 23 seconds from her first superpole time.

Overheard at the end of the weekend:

“What an awesome place, I haven’t had this much fun on a motorcycle in my entire life.” Chad Trank, NESBA Instructor.

“The camp was awesome and was a great learning experience. This was nothing like I had ever done before and the skills we learned like throttle control, balance, inputs into the bike, and steering the motorcycle with the rear brake are all things I can translate onto the pavement when I go racing next year.” – Brandon Cleland, AMA #75.

“I’m very proud of our instructors, we have professional road racers come to the camp that have plenty of dirt experience and when leaving they all comment on how they learned something they can take with them to use on the track. I’m also extremely impressed with our beginner/new riders, we have on multiple occasions, taken someone that has never thrown a leg over ANY type of motorcycle and after four days of instruction we have them feeling confident and in control on the bike, not to mention, they are putting down some impressive superpole times as well” – Joe Prussiano, Lead Instructor.

“The whole experience was much better than I ever thought it could be, all the riding we did, the food, sitting around the campfire trading stories with Colin Edwards…it was the complete package” – Eric Middleton.

“When I got here I was so uncomfortable and scared. Bodak and Colin helped me so much by giving me one on one instruction that at the end of the weekend I felt like I was in control and wasn’t just a passenger along for the ride. I have never felt so comfortable so quickly when first trying something, everyone at the camp was just awesome and I can’t wait to come back for the women’s only camp over Mother’s day next year” – Michele Middleton

“Man did we get in a lot of riding, what isn’t sore…hurts. The only thing better than coming to the boot camp is coming twice and I’m sure that will change when I come back for my third visit” – Ron Hix, AMA #975

“The improvements from the beginning of the weekend until the end were amazing. Once tentative riders at the beginning, they were in full attack mode by the end of the weekend. Not only am I very proud of my students but of all of them as well,” said Shea Fouchek, Instructor.
