Mike Smith and his Valvoline Suzuki get a push out of the pits from Keith Perry at Indianapolis Raceway Park during a WERA National Endurance race sometime in the early 1990s. Valvoline Suzuki first formed with John Ulrich and Bruce Hammer as Team Hammer. They became the most dominant American motorcycle endurance racing team of their era and perhaps of all time. A Who’s Who of riders raced for the team over the years. The rich tradition of Team Hammer continues today as M4 Suzuki. Martin Cardenas gave the squad its first AMA Superbike victory this past June at Barber Motorsports Park. Perry is still with the team as crew chief.
