Gary
He tried a singing career after racing, but that’s about when I lost track of him.

I believe he’s got family in Vegas,my understanding is that he went to school here. Met him before he started racing when he worked at a Yamaha shop near my home.

Marcello was a character, no doubt about it.

My opinion was that if he was going to advance in racing he killed it with his PR skills

I’m not sure if the Mid-Ohio incident hurt or helped his reputation.

Not that it mattered, but after the Mid-Ohio incident the 250 riders had more respect for him.

anyone remember his best finish?

Gary
If you’re talking about Marcello, his best result was a fifth at Road America’s AMA 250 Grand Prix in 1993. He had several top-10 finishes in 250GP during his career.
As far as Gary D’Aluisio is concerned, he never scored a points-paying finish in AMA 250GP that I’m aware of (back in the days where you had to finish top 15 to earn points), but he had some good results in AMA 600 Supersport. Gary had several top-10s with a best of sixth in the Loudon 600 Supersport race in 1987.

I was referring to Marcello, but it was good to hear about Gary

Back then a top ten in a Supersport national was quite an accomplishment.Especially when the names in front of you were Polen,James,Ski,russel,Ashmead. Those guys were just nuts on cold tires!

You got that right Rick. Top 10 was always a big deal in Supersport.
