One of the pleasures of attending the Vintage races at Daytona International Speedway in past years was getting to see the stunning Sundance Harley-Davidson in action in the Battle of the Twins class.
Zak Shibazaki, the owner of custom motorcycle shop Sundance Enterprises in Tokyo, hand-builds his exotic Harleys. The bikes always drew a major crowd around them whenever they exited the garage area. Shibazaki always pushed the boundaries with his engine designs and as a reults the bikes were blazingly fast, but not always reliable.
“It hasn’t been easy. Daytona is a cruel track to all motorcycles, and it has been especially cruel to mine over the years,” Shibazaki said in a 2004 interview. “However, it’s one of my favorite places to be in the world.”
